How PLUs Synchonise to Menu Management
About
On your H&L server, the Sysnet Menu Management Exporter Service automates the synchronisation process. It checks for new items, and for updates to existing items and prices, every five minutes by default. It uploads only from locations that have already been uploaded to Menu Management (an initial manual upload is required).
The service:
- Uploads new items – Normal Modifier and No Modifier PLUs that are flagged with Include in Export and belong to a Location that has already been uploaded.
- Updates changes to existing items – When changes to specific PLU fields are detected
- PLU’s long or short description > Item’s display name
- PLU’s PLU Group > Item’s Product Group
- PLU’s price > Item’s price
- PLU’s description > Item’s description
- PLU’s related qty on hand or available portions > Item’s Qty on Hand
- Links modifier items to modifier groups - Modifier items are checked for associated modifier groups. If a group does not exist, it is created automatically.
Note: Modifier Groups are not associated to Items based on the PLU Linked Modifier Group setting in Sysnet. Modifier Groups must be manually associated to items.
You can check the status of the “H&L Sysnet – Menu Management Exporter Service” by opening the Windows Services panel. For more information, see Managing Windows Services.
